What are dermal fillers?
In the 1930s, researchers discovered hyaluronic acid. They found that it plays a key role in numerous areas of the body including the maintenance of skin volume and hydration, eye volume and shape, as well as joint lubrication and cushioning.

TEOSYAL, REVANESSE, JUVEDERM are all hyaluronic acid which is a substance the body uses to plump and cushion skin and other tissues. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component found in the body.


How does it work?
During treatment a tiny amount of gel is injected under the wrinkle which is lifted up and smoothed out. It can be used to contour and fill out the lips, smooth wrinkles and add volume to the face.


Does it hurt?
Some of the fillers contain anaesthetic and, if required, a local anaesthetic can be injected prior to the procedure. After your treatment, it is common to experience some temporary flaking or scaling, redness and dryness of the skin. However, these conditions will disappear as the skin adjusts to treatment.
