What is IPL?

Intensive Pulse Light (IPL) is perhaps our most commonly used anti aging treatment. If you have brownish spots, redness or dilated capillaries IPL is your best option.

Sun spots or discoloration occur because we expose our skin to the sun. Our skins protective pigment, Melanin, works as a sun block and protects us from UV radiation. If you forget to sunscreen one morning your Melanin will come to your rescue shielding your dermis from sun damage. However this protection comes at a price, you will develop small dark sunspots. IPL will break down that pigmented spot into smaller pieces that our body and the esthetitian can remove much more easily.

Rosacea is the second most common reason for using IPL. Facial redness is primarily caused by tiny dilated veins. IPL seeks out those tiny veins and collapses them. The result is a clear skin and a beautiful complexion.

Skin rejuvenation is also one of the IPL’s major strengths. Women using IPL for sun damage and redness have also noticed that their skin looks much fresher, tighter and healthier. This is because IPL stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the deep dermis. This tightens the skin and makes it look younger.
